Kick Butt Program

A current program taking place at VWAT Family Services from December 2016 to June 2017 that is made possible by the support of the Toronto Public Health (TPH) Investment in Youth Engagement (IYE) Initiative Grant.

The intended goals of the program are:

  • to increase youth’s awareness of the negative impacts of smoking &  tobacco
    use via Smoke-Free Movie Day screenings with group discussions as opportunities for youth to become critical and question the use of smoke in our media
  • mobilize young people to take action through Letter Writing Workshops to our MPP’s & Butt Litter Pick Up Day on April 22, 2017
  • to provide opportunity for youth to be develop their leaderships skills by planning their own KICK BUTT events under the supervision of the Program Coordinator
  • to increase awareness & implement healthy lifestyle habits through our KICK BUTT  Winter Blues & Sport events that include skating, bowling, and rock climbing trips, and tips & tricks on easy ways to have a healthier lifestyle.
