Description of Role:<\/b><\/td>\nThe Camp Lead is a frontline youth-facing position working directly with campers, supporting the Camp Coordinator and the broader staff team. This role is ideal for someone with high energy, enthusiasm for working with children, is responsible and has a desire to develop practical leadership experience in a structured, inclusive camp environment.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Role & Responsibilities:<\/b><\/td>\nPrep Phase (2 Weeks):<\/b><\/p>\n
    \n
  • Participate in orientation and child-safety training<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Shadow staff and the Camp Coordinator to learn schedules and camp routines<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Assist with preparing materials, activities, and room setup<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Become familiar with transitions, group management, and daily flow<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Camp Delivery Phase (4 Weeks):<\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Lead and support daily activities in a frontline capacity<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Supervise campers and support group management throughout the day<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Practice conflict resolution, behaviour support, and safety monitoring<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Build positive relationships with campers and model leadership daily<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Support high school volunteer counselors in their responsibilities<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Assist with attendance, documentation, and daily checklists<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Wrap-Up Phase (1 Week):<\/b><\/p>\n

      • Assist with cleanup, inventory, and material organization<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Contribute to team reflections and feedback sessions<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Help document highlights and lessons learned<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Support any CSJ-related youth feedback or simple reporting tasks<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Requirements:<\/b><\/td>\n\n

  • Must meet Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) eligibility requirements<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted\/conferred. Have a valid SIN.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Currently enrolled in a university or college program, OR able to demonstrate strong, provable experience in the skills required for this position<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Subject to vulnerable sector police screening<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Must attend orientation and all required training sessions<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Reliable and able to commit to the full 7-week term<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
